A IBM Case Study

Preview of the Techcombank Case Study

Tapping into new growth opportunities with fast, scalable and cost-efficient IBM systems

Techcombank, one of Vietnam’s leading commercial banks, needed an infrastructure that could keep up with rapidly growing demand while supporting a more customer-centric banking model. The bank wanted faster, always-on services, stronger security, and a platform that could scale efficiently without driving up costs, and turned to IBM for help, specifically IBM LinuxONE systems.

IBM implemented two IBM LinuxONE Emperor II servers running Red Hat Enterprise Linux, along with IBM Secure Service Container technology and IBM DS8886 all-flash storage, to modernize Techcombank’s core banking platform and improve performance and resilience. The results included handling 4x peak-season transaction volume smoothly, cutting batch processing time by more than 30%, and projecting a 44% reduction in total cost of ownership, while giving Techcombank a scalable foundation for future growth.
