Case Study: Supreme Petrochem boosts productivity, accelerates reporting and reduces energy footprint with IBM Power Systems and SAP S/4HANA

A IBM Case Study

Preview of the Supreme Petrochem Case Study

Supreme Petrochem Limited Innovates, boosts productivity, and reduces energy and environmental impact

Supreme Petrochem Limited, a major Indian plastics and polymers manufacturer, needed to grow production while keeping costs and environmental impact under control. The company faced manual order processing, slow month‑end financial reporting, rising data‑center footprint and energy use, and wanted a modern, efficient SAP platform — so it moved from SAP ECC to SAP S/4HANA and selected IBM technologies (SAP S/4HANA running on an IBM Power Systems S824, IBM FlashSystem storage and IBM PowerVM) to meet those goals.

IBM implemented the SAP S/4HANA environment on a single IBM Power Systems S824 with IBM FlashSystem 5000 storage, PowerVM virtualization and SUSE Linux, supported by IBM Systems Lab Services and partner Intellect Bizware. The deployment automated online order and payments processing, cut restart times by about 60% (from ~15 to under 5 minutes), sped month‑end reporting by 85% (one week to one day), halved server racks/floor space and kept CPU utilization under 50% at peak — improving operational efficiency, resiliency and energy footprint while enabling growth.
