Case Study: CZ achieves 50% faster, GDPR-compliant test data management with IBM Hybrid Cloud

A IBM Case Study

Preview of the CZ Case Study

Supports rapid software development while protecting client confidentiality

CZ, a leading Dutch health insurer, needed to accelerate software development and meet strict privacy regulations such as the GDPR while protecting client data. The time-consuming process of preparing realistic, referentially intact test datasets threatened deadlines for regulatory updates and frequent releases, so CZ selected IBM InfoSphere Optim Test Data Management (part of its IBM Hybrid Cloud offerings) to address these challenges.

IBM implemented an automated test data management solution that subsets and masks production data (including custom routines for BSN and valid Dutch IBANs), integrating with CZ’s DB2 for z/OS and Microsoft SQL Server environments. The IBM solution cut test dataset creation time by about 50%, reduced storage needs and costs, improved compliance and data privacy, and set the stage for an expected ~10% reduction in overall development cycle time.
