RCS Global Group, a leader in supply chain mapping and responsible sourcing, faced the challenge of improving transparency and accountability across complex battery-materials supply chains, where risks include unsafe labor practices, environmental concerns, and human rights violations. To address this, RCS Global Group partnered with IBM and used IBM Blockchain technology to track materials from mine to end product.

IBM helped RCS Global Group build and deploy the Responsible Sourcing Blockchain Network (RSBN) on the IBM Blockchain Platform, combining blockchain-based traceability with audit-backed responsibility scores. The solution provided near real-time visibility, tamper-evident provenance records, better protection of confidential data, and more efficient risk management, while also helping scale responsible sourcing efforts across more participants and industries.
