Sol Caribbean, a fast-growing petroleum company operating in 23 countries across the Caribbean, needed a better way to manage its capital expenditure (CapEx) process. Before working with IBM, approvals were handled by email with no central repository, limited document tracking, weak workflow control, and audit challenges. IBM implemented a centralized automation platform using IBM Cloud Pak for Business Automation, IBM Business Automation Workflow, and IBM FileNet Content Manager. The solution automated project intake, document storage, routing, approvals, reporting, and budget coordination, giving Sol Caribbean end-to-end visibility across its investment process. Since implementation, IBM helped Sol Caribbean cut major project approval times from weeks to a week or less, improve audit readiness and compliance, and reduce fraud risk while managing about 1,000 projects per year.
