Waterfront Toronto, the organization responsible for revitalizing Toronto's lakefront, needed a social portal to connect all stakeholders and enhance quality of life to support its goal of becoming a model intelligent community. They worked with vendor IBM and its IBM Connections social business software to address this challenge.
The solution IBM implemented, through its partner Element Blue, was the New Blue Edge community portal. This cloud-based platform, powered by IBM Connections and IBM WebSphere Portal, provided social tools for collaboration and a streamlined content management system. The results included an enhanced reputation as a smart city leader, an improved web experience for residents, and a dynamic showcase to attract new residents, visitors, and entrepreneurs.
