A IBM Case Study

Preview of the Skyegrid Case Study

Skyegrid IBM Cloud supports innovative, local cloud gaming platform

Skyegrid is a Jakarta-based cloud gaming platform that aimed to deliver “AAA” titles to budget gamers without latency or expensive hardware. To handle rapid subscriber growth from telco partnerships and ensure low-latency performance, Skyegrid turned to IBM, using IBM Cloud and IBM Cloud Bare Metal Servers (along with Citrix Hypervisor and high-performance GPUs) to get the required compute power and global reach.

Using IBM Cloud and IBM Cloud Bare Metal Servers, Skyegrid keeps operating costs low, offers 88 game titles (28 more than its nearest competitor), and supports Android, Mac, Windows and Linux devices. The IBM solution — boosted by a Startup with IBM credit for initial servers — helped Skyegrid attract 3,000 paying subscribers, more than 9 million page views, 16,000–18,000 daily unique visitors and 500,000–550,000 monthly uniques, enabling affordable subscription pricing and expansion plans.
