BWG Foods, one of Ireland’s leading food retail and wholesale companies, needed to simplify increasingly complex budgeting and sales reporting across its growing network of convenience stores. Its existing analytics process was slow, heavily manual, and dependent on key individuals, making it difficult to produce timely, detailed reports. BWG Foods worked with IBM and IBM Planning Analytics, implemented with support from ProStrategy, to improve its group-level reporting and financial planning.
IBM Planning Analytics helped BWG Foods automate budgeting, reporting, and data integration, replacing manual steps with a more flexible and user-friendly system. The results included more than 240 hours saved in the budgeting process, over eight hours saved per week on sales reporting, and faster cycle times reduced from weeks to days. BWG Foods also improved accuracy, eliminated report corrections, and strengthened business continuity by reducing reliance on specialist knowledge.
