Mohegan Sun, the large Connecticut resort and casino, struggled with hotel operations challenges tied to its 1,563-room property: housekeeping and front-desk teams lacked timely access to occupancy, room-status, and guest-request data, causing delays, inefficiencies, and added pressure on supervisors. IBM helped the customer address these issues with IBM Cognos Analytics software.

IBM implemented user-friendly Cognos Analytics dashboards and real-time datasets for housekeeping and front-desk staff, supported by training from IBM Business Partner LPA Software Solutions. The result was near-real-time visibility into room status, fewer errors, and an estimated savings of about one hour per day per supervisor, while also improving guest satisfaction, reducing wait times, and enabling easier updates and more self-sufficient operations across departments.
