A IBM Case Study

Preview of the Shibuya Case Study

Shibuya fuses the right mix of technologies to help businesses succeed

Shibuya, a Sweden-based IT services provider serving Nordic customers, needed to refresh its infrastructure to support more diverse, data-intensive workloads such as AI, machine learning, big data, and analytics. To better tailor services and keep data local while meeting regulatory needs, Shibuya turned to IBM Power Systems and IBM storage technology.

IBM implemented a modern data center foundation for Shibuya using IBM Power S922 servers, PowerVM, AIX, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, SUSE Linux Enterprise Server, Red Hat OpenShift, FlashSystem 5000 storage, TS4300 tape libraries, and SAN64B-6 switches. The result was high availability, stronger scalability, faster response times for critical applications, and nonstop 24x7 service for customers; IBM technology also helped Shibuya support clients like Trioplast without interruptions during sudden demand spikes.
