JD Williams, a long-established distance-shopping retailer, needed to evolve from a catalogue-led business into a modern digital multichannel brand as online, mobile, and tablet shopping grew. Its fragmented back-office systems for finance, procurement, and business management were limiting growth, and the company turned to IBM Services and Oracle Retail/ERP solutions to support its “Fit for the Future” transformation.
IBM Services implemented the first phase of this program, delivering Oracle Fusion Finance, Oracle Fusion Procurement, middleware integrations, dashboards, data migration, and change management support. IBM helped JD Williams complete the finance and procurement rollout on schedule, establish an enterprise-wide chart of accounts, and standardize financial processes, which cut monthly reporting and consolidation time and created the foundation for future multichannel retail capabilities.
