A IBM Case Study

Preview of the Fawry Case Study

Putting Egypt on the global digital payments map with innovative, fast 24/7 services

Fawry, Egypt’s digital payments provider, needed to support rapid transaction growth while introducing new services quickly without sacrificing reliability, data protection, or 24/7 availability. To handle millions of daily transactions and growing data volumes, Fawry turned to IBM for storage and infrastructure support, including IBM Storage, IBM Db2, Oracle database on IBM Power Systems, and related IBM storage software.

IBM implemented IBM FlashSystem, IBM Elastic Storage Server, and IBM Spectrum Storage solutions to improve performance, scalability, and backup efficiency, while enabling a seamless migration with zero downtime. The results included a 35% boost in storage performance, a reduction in overnight reconciliation from 5 hours to 2.5 hours, and strong compression and deduplication gains to support 200% data growth—helping Fawry deliver more responsive, always-on services.
