A IBM Case Study
An international retailing group was using an aging software-based IBM Security access management solution. They saw an opportunity to reduce operational costs and improve their security capabilities, particularly to better support new mobile and cloud applications while governing access for 300,000 users.
The group worked with IBM and Palmetto Security Group to upgrade to the IBM Security Access Manager appliance. This implementation from IBM cut hardware requirements by 50 percent, resulting in an estimated 30-40 percent in annual savings on licensing and maintenance. The new appliance also provided out-of-the-box security features that are expected to save the company hundreds of labor hours each year.
