Christian Cinema, the largest online source of faith-affirming and family-approved films, needed a fast, secure, and reliable way to move large movie files into its custom cloud-based VOD platform as it expanded from DVDs into digital streaming. Traditional FTP transfers were too slow and unreliable for 8–12GB files, and shipping hard drives was not practical for filmmakers around the world.

IBM implemented Aspera Application Platform on Demand, IBM Aspera SDK, and IBM Aspera Connect Browser Plug-in so Christian Cinema could embed high-speed file transfer directly into its custom content management workflow. The solution enabled filmmakers to upload files, add metadata, set pricing, and submit titles from anywhere in the world, with films encoded and live on the site in 24 to 48 hours instead of weeks.
