I-D Foods, a family-owned Canadian specialty and natural foods distributor serving more than 10,000 customers, needed to replace aging custom ERP applications that could not provide real-time operational insight or keep up with its growth. The company turned to IBM and SAP, using SAP S/4HANA on IBM Power Systems and IBM Storage to streamline order fulfilment and improve customer service.

IBM implemented SAP S/4HANA on two IBM Power Systems S822 servers with IBM PowerVM virtualization and IBM FlashSystem storage. The new platform is expected to make order entry 6x faster, reduce warehouse process time, and deliver an 87.5% smaller physical footprint than the proposed x86 alternative, lowering hosting costs while giving I-D Foods real-time analytics and a stronger foundation for future growth.
