A IBM Case Study
Tejon Ranch Company, a major landowner and developer with 270,000 acres in California, faced the challenge of making optimal decisions for designing and building new sustainable communities. They needed to harness technology to manage their vast and diverse holdings, which included real estate development, agriculture, and conservation, by unlocking insights from their extensive data and documents that were previously difficult to access.
IBM provided a solution built on its analytics and enterprise content management software, including IBM Case Manager and IBM Connections. This created a central platform for data, documents, and collaboration, which integrated with geographic information systems for spatial visualization. The results included streamlined processes, such as reducing a farm invoicing cycle from 20 days to just 5, and an estimated savings of USD 4 million over three years by eliminating paperwork and improving efficiency.
