Case Study: European School of Management and Business (EUDE) improves student and tutor support with IBM generative AI

Piloting generative AI to improve the experience of students and tutors

European School of Management and Business (EUDE), headquartered in Madrid, faced the challenge of supporting more than 13,000 online students each year across different time zones. To improve response times and reduce the burden on tutors, EUDE worked with IBM to pilot a generative AI virtual co-tutor called EDU.

IBM implemented EDU using IBM Cloud, IBM watsonx.ai, IBM watsonx Assistant, and IBM Watson Discovery to answer administrative, academic, and logistical questions in natural language. In a one-week pilot with three dozen Digital Transformation students, EDU delivered responses in under 20 seconds, earned a 9/10 rating for prediction accuracy, and was described as responsive and useful, helping boost student satisfaction while freeing tutors to focus on more personalized and strategic support.
