Petroleum Development Oman faced a challenge modernizing paper-heavy integrated facilities management, procurement, and inventory processes across 12 sites. Its older ERP system lacked the flexibility for corporate real estate needs, mobility, customer self-service, and efficient reporting, so the company turned to IBM and its Maximo platform.
IBM helped Petroleum Development Oman migrate to a cloud-based IBM Maximo Application Suite, with IBM Maximo Anywhere supporting mobile access and a customer portal. The new solution streamlined procurement from 46 steps to 14, eliminated paper for transaction approvals, saved 70,000 sheets of paper per year, reduced annual processing time by 2,300 hours, and improved visibility across more than 60,000 maintainable assets.
