Pakistan’s Askari Bank turns to the IBM QRadar platform to build a new security operations center

Askari Bank in Pakistan needed to quickly modernize its cybersecurity operations to meet new regulatory requirements and protect against rising cyberthreats, but it had limited security capabilities and no dedicated security team. To build a security operations center from scratch, the bank turned to IBM and the IBM Security QRadar platform, with support from IBM Business Partner Software Productivity Strategists.

IBM helped Askari Bank implement QRadar SIEM and QRadar SOAR to centralize log data, improve threat detection, and automate incident response through playbooks. The result was a major efficiency gain: daily security incidents dropped from about 700 to fewer than 20, and average remediation time fell from 30 minutes to 5 minutes. Askari Bank also expanded its SOC to more than 20 specialists and gained 24x7 threat visibility and stronger compliance with Pakistan’s cybersecurity rules.
