Oxford Networks reduces cloud management workload by 30 percent

Oxford Networks, a provider of telephone and fiber optic network services, needed to launch a new managed services business built on a reliable and scalable cloud environment that could guarantee 100% uptime for its customers in Maine and northern New England.

To meet this challenge, IBM provided a cloud solution using IBM Cloud Monitoring and IBM Cloud Provisioning software running on IBM System x iDataPlex and IBM V7000 storage hardware. The result was a successful new business line for Oxford Networks, which grew from a start-up to a sustainable managed services provider in just 18 months. The company also reduced its workload for managing the hybrid cloud by 30 percent.
