Tomago Aluminium needed a more transparent, reliable platform for its business-critical SAP workloads after moving SAP HANA to a public cloud that felt like a “black box.” The company depended on SAP ERP, finance, HR, procurement, and warehouse systems to keep its 24/7 smelting operations running, but lacked visibility, capacity insight, and flexibility for development work.

IBM helped Tomago Aluminium move to a private cloud built on IBM Power Systems, IBM storage, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, and automation tools, with support from Advent One and IBM Lab Services. IBM completed the deployment in six days, and the new environment delivered a 75% performance increase versus the previous public cloud, plus 66% faster end-of-month report processing and better cost control, resilience, and system visibility.
