A IBM Case Study
TINE SA, Norway’s largest dairy producer, was struggling with a highly complex value chain and a “spaghetti” of ad hoc point-to-point integrations across factories, warehouses, distributors, and 32 legacy systems. The lack of a common integration method created high operational risk, heavy manual maintenance, and inefficiencies in milk collection, routing, and product allocation.
IBM, working with partner Avella, implemented an integration architecture based on IBM Cloud Pak for Integration, including IBM API Connect, IBM App Connect Enterprise, and IBM MQ. The new Central Integration Competency Center and Integration Factory streamlined governance and reuse, helping TINE build more than 100 integrations, reduce transportation costs, optimize truck loading and delivery routes, and move milk more efficiently into higher-value products.
