Naviair transforms its SAP HANA environment with the help of IBM Power

Naviair, a state-owned aviation services provider in Denmark, needed to modernize its aging administrative IT infrastructure to support critical SAP applications, improve security, and reduce strain on limited resources. As it planned a move toward a hybrid cloud model, the company evaluated options with IBM and chose an IBM Power-based approach for its SAP HANA environment.

IBM implemented SAP HANA on IBM Power10 with IBM Expert Labs, along with IBM FlashSystem, PowerSC, and PowerVC, replacing 8 x86 servers with 2 Power10 machines. The result was a more streamlined and scalable environment, 3–4x faster performance, up to 64% lower power consumption, and a solution that was over 3 times more cost-effective than cloud alternatives.
