National Van Lines keeps moving forward with IBM Power Virtual Server

National Van Lines, an employee-owned moving and relocation company operating across 48 states, was struggling with frequent power outages at its Chicago base that left servers down for days and put business continuity and disaster recovery at risk. The company also relied on physical tape backups, which were not enough to support a remote workforce or provide dependable recovery.

IBM, working with business partner Pellera, implemented IBM Power Virtual Server with IBM Cloud Object Storage and Precisely Assure MIMIX to migrate critical workloads to a resilient hybrid cloud. The result was a disaster recovery time improvement from days to hours, elimination of on-premises infrastructure and tape backups, and lower costs. National Van Lines said the solution was secure, reliable, and strong enough that it is now expanding the IBM approach to another business unit.
