Case Study: DLF Ltd. drives smarter retail promotions and footfall management with IBM analytics

A IBM Case Study

Preview of the DLF Ltd Case Study

Mobile technology and cloud-based analytics used to understand and influence customer behavior

DLF Ltd, one of India's largest commercial real estate developers, faced the challenge of helping retailers in its DLF Promenade mall increase their sales conversion rates. They wanted to enhance their mobile shopping app to deliver deeper customer insights that could enrich the shopping experience and influence behavior. To address this, they worked with vendor IBM, leveraging IBM DB2 for Linux and IBM Research expertise.

The solution implemented by IBM used intelligent, location-based technology and cloud-based analytics to gain near-real-time insights from smartphone sensor data. This allowed retailers to develop contextual customer portraits and push timely, relevant promotions. The IBM solution helped drive increased sales by matching customer location to shopping venues, optimized marketing efforts by identifying attractive promotions, and improved footfall management through congestion heat-mapping.
