A IBM Case Study
Mizuho Bank, Ltd. faced challenges with its aging online banking system, which lacked the flexibility and scalability needed to improve customer experience and business continuity while trying to reduce IT costs. To transform its services and support its growing mobile and online customer base, the bank turned to IBM for a modern platform solution.
IBM implemented a solution based on IBM z Systems technology running a Linux operating system and utilizing IBM DB2 High-Availability Disaster Recovery software. This provided Mizuho with a stable, active-active infrastructure that enhanced system reliability and accelerated development of new services. The results included maintaining high user satisfaction for over 10 million customers, gaining the scalability to handle transaction spikes, and achieving these improvements at approximately half the previous operating costs.
