A IBM Case Study
Miami-Dade County, one of the largest counties in the U.S., needed a better way to manage data across 26 departments and improve services like public safety, transportation, and utilities. It turned to IBM and its smarter cities tools, including IBM Cognos Analytics, IBM Intelligent Water technology, and IBM Intelligent Operations Center, to centralize information and make operations more efficient.
IBM implemented a real-time data platform that connected cameras, predictive analytics, and department systems to detect issues faster and support better decision-making. The county saved more than USD 1 million in its first year with IBM Intelligent Water technology, and using IBM SPSS for crime analysis led to a 6% increase in arrest rates. IBM also helped improve response times and resource allocation across public safety and other services.
