A IBM Case Study
Merlin Entertainments, a global theme park and attractions company, faced the challenge of managing 12 disparate online ticketing systems. This lack of a consistent global platform led to high and variable sales costs, an inability to run cross-brand promotions, and no visibility into worldwide ticket sales. To overcome this, they engaged IBM.
IBM Global Business Services implemented a strategic global eCommerce solution built on IBM WebSphere Commerce software. The solution standardized online sales across 60 attractions, supporting multiple languages and currencies. This reduced the cost per sale, significantly increased online ticket sales, and provided global sales visibility. The partnership with IBM also simplified IT infrastructure and improved customer convenience with less queuing.
