Meander Medical Center, a healthcare provider in the Netherlands, sought to create a digital healing environment to extend patient care beyond its physical facilities. The organization needed a robust portal platform and a trusted implementation partner to deliver personalized web and mobile access to its healthcare services. They turned to IBM and its Premier Business Partner, Funatic, to implement a solution built on IBM Digital Experience software.

The solution, designed and deployed by IBM partner Funatic, consisted of an interactive patient portal and mobile apps built on IBM WebSphere Portal, Web Content Manager, and other IBM software. This integrated with the hospital's systems to give patients secure access to personal health records, appointment scheduling, and direct communication with doctors. As a result, Meander is enhancing care coordination and expanding its digital services, with a growing number of registered users benefiting from the personalized experience. The partnership with IBM and Funatic has set a technical foundation for future growth, including the potential use of IBM Watson Analytics.
