Case Study: Migros Zurich achieves lower maintenance costs with IBM Maximo Asset Management

A IBM Case Study

Preview of the Migros Case Study

Lowering maintenance costs using predictive analytics for enterprise asset management

Migros Zurich, a Swiss retail company operating 97 stores and serving 1.5 million customers, faced costly and inefficient reactive maintenance for its vast network of refrigerators. The challenge was to shift to a proactive strategy to protect food safety, optimize asset performance, and reduce administrative overhead for its technicians.

IBM, working with its partner Ascom Solutions, implemented IBM Maximo Asset Management and IBM Maximo Everyplace. This solution automated maintenance tasks, provided mobile access to technical data for field teams, and delivered predictive analytics. The results for Migros included faster repairs, deep insights into equipment failures, and a significant reduction in the time and cost of maintenance.
