Laboratorio Médico Las Américas enables more holistic care using IBM software

Laboratorio Médico Las Américas wanted to give patients and providers greater insight and control over medical care by making better use of available clinical data. To meet this challenge the lab worked with IBM (and IBM Business Partner ne Digital) and deployed IBM Cloud technologies including IBM Db2, IBM Watson (Watson Analytics) and IBM Business Process Manager software to aggregate and analyze clinical information.

IBM implemented a solution that consolidates patient records, applies Watson analytics and orchestrates data flows with Business Process Manager to compare individual cases against global clinical data. The system delivers timely, prognostic insights that support earlier intervention, medication adjustments and more holistic care—improving patients’ knowledge and clinicians’ ability to treat—demonstrating IBM’s impact on outcomes and decision-making.
