knowis AG, a German software vendor serving banks and financial services firms, wanted to expand beyond its on-premises offerings with a cloud-based version of its isfinancial platform. The company needed a scalable, fully managed database that could lower setup and maintenance costs, shorten deployment times, and meet strict European Banking Authority and EU data residency requirements. IBM Db2 on Cloud was selected as the database component.

IBM worked with knowis to integrate IBM Db2 on Cloud, alongside IBM Business Process Manager on Cloud, into the isfinancial platform. The result was a fully managed cloud option that worked “out of the box,” reduced customer setup and maintenance costs, shortened the sales cycle, and lowered total cost of ownership. This also helped knowis reach smaller banks and financial institutions, expanding its customer base beyond larger organizations.
