Ireland expedites nationwide COVID vaccination program

The Health Services Executive of Ireland needed to launch a secure, nationwide COVID-19 vaccination platform quickly to serve all Irish citizens while protecting health data and coordinating scheduling, communications, reporting, and auditing. Working with IBM Consulting and Salesforce, the agency turned to IBM Garage and Salesforce cloud technology to move at pandemic speed.

IBM helped deliver the COVAX vaccine management platform in just two weeks, with an MVP completed in nine working days and first rolled out across four acute hospitals. Since then, the platform has tracked more than 11 million vaccinations and helped over 90% of eligible citizens receive at least one dose, while continuing to scale with new features and booster support.
