IBM implemented a central SAP HANA platform built on IBM Power System E980 servers (POWER9), IBM FlashSystem, IBM SAN Volume Controller, IBM PowerVC and IBM Spectrum Virtualize, with IBM Services and IBM Systems Lab Services managing the migration and disaster recovery; IBM Global Financing helped spread costs. The move—completed in under four weeks—cut disaster recovery infrastructure costs by 30%, reduced recovery times by 75% to a 4‑hour RTO, lowered maintenance workloads by 10%, enabled system restarts in under 10 minutes (vs one hour), and reduced maintenance-window time by 15%.
