Increasing its share of a 200-billion-dollar market with end-to-end processes integration from IBM, SAP, and SUSE

CENIBRA, a leading Brazilian producer of bleached eucalyptus pulp, faced rising demand, tight delivery schedules, and difficulty sharing data between its manufacturing and logistics systems. With IBM Consulting, CENIBRA set out to modernize its operations using SAP S/4HANA on IBM infrastructure to improve cost visibility, delivery planning, and sustainability-driven efficiency.

IBM implemented SAP S/4HANA on IBM Power E950 servers with IBM FlashSystem storage and SUSE Linux Enterprise Server for SAP Applications, creating an integrated, scalable platform for end-to-end processes. The results included five-times fewer servers than the planned x86 option, up to 30% higher performance, financial reporting up to 180x faster, and daily backup times cut from four hours to two hours.
