A IBM Case Study
Norsk Tipping, Norway’s state-owned gaming company, needed a faster way to process huge volumes of gaming and responsible-gaming data. Its batch-based systems were taking up to 24 hours for analytics and 8–9 hours for lottery subscription processing, slowing response times for more than two million customers. To modernize its data architecture, Norsk Tipping turned to IBM and the IBM Event Streams platform.
IBM implemented IBM Event Streams on Kubernetes/OpenShift to enable event-driven, real-time data processing. The solution made lottery subscription processing 6X faster, reducing it from 8–9 hours to 1.5 hours, and improved responsiveness for customer services and partner commission calculations. IBM Event Streams also created a path toward near real-time responsible gaming updates and better personalization, helping Norsk Tipping improve user experience and support its social mission.
