IBM MobileFirst solution provides innovative ways for Beauty Consultants to engage customers

Shiseido Co. Ltd, a leading global cosmetics company, faced the challenge of enhancing its customer experience and supporting its 22,000 Beauty Consultants. To achieve this, the customer wanted to equip its consultants with new iPad-based tools for improved customer engagement, product feedback, and teamwork, which required developing new mobile applications. IBM provided the IBM MobileFirst Platform Foundation software to address this need.

Using the IBM MobileFirst Platform Foundation, Shiseido developed, secured, and deployed the "Bureau" enterprise app for iPads. This IBM solution streamlined the development process, allowing Shiseido to deploy the app to 10,000 tablets within a year without new hires, significantly reducing maintenance costs. The results included improved consultant responsiveness, faster customer feedback to product teams (cutting the process from a month to a day), and enhanced teamwork, ultimately helping Shiseido differentiate its brand through better customer service.
