A IBM Case Study
Gwinnett County Public Schools, the largest school district in Georgia, needed a way for its teachers and administrators to collaborate more effectively on curriculum development and professional training. As part of its eCLASS digital program, the district partnered with IBM to find a solution to move beyond cumbersome email chains and enable better information sharing.
IBM implemented a "Collaboration tool" built on IBM Connections software. This allowed the creation of online communities where staff could share resources and ideas. The solution fostered widespread adoption, with nearly all of the district's 12,000 staff gaining access. IBM's tool streamlined communications, enhanced professional development planning, and helped reduce isolation among teachers, with one survey showing nearly 90% of instructional staff were actively using the forums monthly.
