IBM Blockchain aids in dismantling exposed liabilities on construction sites

DoshEx, a South African digital exchange asset company, helped a large commercial and industrial painting service provider address widespread timekeeping, people-management and compliance problems—missing or forged medical and training records, safety exposure, and costly manual timesheets. To tackle these challenges the customer engaged IBM, using IBM Blockchain and IBM Cloud technologies (alongside DoshEx’s Sherlock platform) to digitize onsite access, medical filings and attendance record keeping.

IBM’s blockchain-enabled solution implemented biometric fingerprint clocking and enterprise smart contracts to create an immutable, real-time ledger of worker presence and compliance across sites. The IBM deployment removed labor discrepancies, lowered safety risk and liability, cut labor costs by eliminating fraudulent timesheets, and reduced administrative burdens—giving managers a single auditable source of truth for site operations.
