A IBM Case Study
Danske Bank, a Nordic universal bank, needed to speed up software delivery and improve quality while modernizing its mainframe development environment. Working with IBM, the bank adopted agile processes and IBM Application Delivery Foundation for z/OS, including IBM Engineering Workflow Management and IBM Developer for z/OS, to better support its large community of developers and its IBM Z-based core banking systems.
IBM implemented a more integrated, automated development toolset for Danske Bank, helping streamline coding, testing, debugging, and lifecycle management across the mainframe. The results were significant: development cycles became 60% faster, time to market improved by 50%, and the bank reduced its testing-to-production window from under 25 minutes to under 15 minutes, while also improving stability, visibility, and compliance.
