Preview of the Croatian Pensions Insurance Institute (HZMO) Case Study

HZMO has security-rich, point-to-point file transfers, that automates data exchange between mission-critical applications

Croatian Pensions Insurance Institute (HZMO) needed a secure, electronic way to send pension-related information to banks and public institutions, replacing a highly manual process that involved copying data onto 800 magnetic media each month. To address this challenge, HZMO worked with IBM and used IBM Sterling B2B Integrator with IBM Sterling Connect:Direct to automate file transfers and protect sensitive data.

IBM implemented the solution with adapters and trained HZMO staff to manage the new processes, enabling automated data exchange with partner institutions in Croatia and Slovenia. The result was faster, more accurate, standardized transmissions that reduced manual work and costs, improved compatibility with partner systems, and helped minimize erroneous payments.
