The studio needed a solution to provide seamless, controlled access to one of the world's largest render farms to meet tight production deadlines.

IBM implemented its Platform LSF software to create an HPC grid, managing a 4,000-CPU render farm across two facilities. The solution achieved a 97% overnight utilization rate, compressed the immense rendering workload into a single year, and used a resource accounting mechanism to ensure deadlines were met and resources were fairly shared among competing projects.
