How one hospital met its digital health demands — aggressively

University of Fukui Hospital in Japan needed to improve the security, stability, and scalability of its patient data as its medical IT environment grew more complex. Working with IBM and using IBM Cloud services, the hospital sought to modernize its infrastructure, address space and backup constraints, and support electronic patient records and integrated business systems.

IBM implemented a hybrid cloud environment using IBM Cloud Bare Metal Servers, IBM Cloud Object Storage, IBM Power Systems Virtual Server, and IBM Spectrum Protect to move critical workloads and data into a more secure, high-availability setup. As a result, the hospital reduced its on-premises servers by 70%, lowered staff workload and costs, improved disaster recovery, and enabled access to information anytime, anywhere.
