How IT upholds the US Constitution

The Administrative Office of the Courts faced a growing indigent defense caseload and highly manual, disconnected claims processes that were causing delays, errors, and backlogged payments. Working with IBM and IBM Business Partner Prolifics, the AOC needed a more efficient way to manage public defense claims while staying compliant with state law and maintaining full traceability.

IBM helped implement an automated end-to-end claims system using IBM Cloud Pak for Automation and IBM Business Automation Workflow, with a user-friendly front end from Intellective. The new solution cut claims processing from 45–60 days to 10 days or less, reduced bottlenecks, improved audit visibility, supported electronic payments and pay-rate changes, and enabled faster, more accurate compensation for public defense resources.
