Grows business opportunities based on SAP HANA solutions on IBM Power Systems

Asahi Kasei Group needed a more scalable, cost-effective way to support its growing SAP HANA databases as transaction volumes increased and its existing x86-based infrastructure neared a costly refresh. Working with IBM, the company looked for a solution that could reduce complexity, improve reliability, and avoid repeated hardware upgrades.

IBM implemented SAP HANA on IBM Power Systems, using IBM PowerVM virtualization to consolidate workloads onto a single IBM Power Systems E870C server with flexible resource allocation and Capacity on Demand. The result was lower total cost of ownership, reduced administrative workload, stronger performance and reliability, and the ability to add capacity quickly to handle peak and future growth.
