The Multinational Satellite Services Provider faced a unique challenge: its satellite-based network produced many non‑standard and disparate performance data types that traditional SNMP‑based monitoring could not normalize, forcing NetOps to manually cobble together data to diagnose issues. To address this, the customer turned to IBM, deploying IBM SevOne Network Performance Management (SevOne NPM) alongside IBM Cloud Pak for Watson AIOps and Kafka-based ingestion to centralize and normalize streams of satellite‑specific and IoT data.

IBM’s solution ingested diverse Kafka streams into SevOne NPM, flowed normalized data into IBM Netcool/Cloud Pak for Watson AIOps, and integrated with ServiceNow for automated, closed‑loop incident management. The result was a consolidated, AIOps‑ready view of network performance, faster diagnosis and remediation, automated ticketing and reporting, measurable improvements in operational efficiency and effectiveness, and even new and expanded customer subscriptions driven by SevOne NPM’s reporting capabilities.
