A IBM Case Study
GBSBank, a co-operative bank in Poland, wanted to modernize customer service and prepare for rapid data growth while ensuring reliable, always-on access for its Oracle databases and virtualized systems. As it shifted more customer interactions to digital channels, the bank needed an IT foundation that could handle higher demand without disrupting services, and it chose IBM FlashSystem storage to support that goal.
IBM implemented two IBM FlashSystem 5200 storage systems, using HyperSwap for active-active replication and working with 4Prime to add automated database snapshots and ensure a smooth migration. The result was zero disruption during a four-month deployment, average response times cut to 0.7 milliseconds, peak response times improved by about 86%, and storage capacity reduced by roughly 70%, giving GBSBank more resilience, productivity, and room to grow with IBM.
