A IBM Case Study
HANSA-FLEX, a hydraulics specialist, needed to ensure its IT infrastructure and SAP landscape could keep pace with its rapid business growth, which had caused its production database to triple in size and begin suffering from performance issues. The company sought a more scalable and flexible solution from vendor IBM to support its mission-critical logistics and maintain its competitive edge in delivering spare parts within 24 hours.
IBM implemented a new infrastructure built on IBM Power System S824 servers running the IBM i operating system and IBM DB2 for i database, complemented by virtualized IBM storage solutions. This provided the scalability and performance HANSA-FLEX required. The results included a 56 percent improvement in analytics query speed, a 70 percent acceleration in database processing, and a significant boost in staff productivity, all while reducing operating costs.
