A IBM Case Study
Fredericia Kommune, a Danish municipality, faced the challenge of high operational costs and employees spending excessive time on paperwork, which reduced their ability to provide direct services to citizens. To drive down costs and improve efficiency, the municipality partnered with vendor IBM and its implementation partner to deploy the Nuance SpeechMagic speech recognition platform.
Working with IBM Global Business Services, the Nuance SpeechMagic solution was implemented, enabling staff to dictate instead of type. This resulted in a 250% increase in words recorded per minute, from 59 to 205. The solution also led to an 83% reduction in time spent on journal notes and a 75% reduction for compiling reports, vastly exceeding their initial 45% productivity target and significantly improving citizen service.
