A IBM Case Study

Preview of the Corning Case Study

Focuses on HR self-service to let employee engagement shine through

Corning, the glass, ceramics and optics specialist, was seeing HR costs rise while its legacy on-premise systems struggled to meet employees’ growing expectations for web and mobile access. To improve workforce visibility, employee engagement, and operational efficiency across its 45,000-person global workforce, Corning turned to SAP SuccessFactors with assistance from IBM Services.

IBM implemented a single global cloud-based HR platform for Corning, including self-service portals, mobile access, and extensive system integrations across 72 systems. The result was a consumer-quality experience for employees and managers, more than 10,000 daily visits to find skills and capabilities, and lower operational costs, while IBM also helped clean and migrate four years of historical data to support better analytics and future machine learning.
